Liechtenauers
Liechtenauers refers to a group of German fencing masters associated with the tradition of the Fechtbuch literature, particularly those influenced by the teachings of Johannes Liechtenauer. Johannes Liechtenauer, a 14th-century fencing master from what is now Germany, is credited with codifying and popularizing a system of German longsword combat. His teachings, often presented in abbreviated poetic form known as the "Nutzlicher Tractat" (Useful Treatise), formed the basis for a lineage of fencing masters who expanded upon and interpreted his work.
These masters, often referred to as Liechtenauers or Liechtenauer's disciples, produced their own Fechtbücher, or fencing
