Liczba

Liczba is a term in Polish that denotes a mathematical object used to express quantity, order, or value. In mathematics, a liczba is an abstract entity that can be counted, measured, compared, and used in operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Distinctions: A liczba is not the same as a numeral or a digit. A liczba is the abstract concept; a numeral is a symbol or string of symbols that denotes a liczba. Decimal digits 0 through 9 are commonly used to write numerals in base ten, but many other numeral systems exist.

Major families: Natural numbers (often starting at 0 or 1) are used for counting. Integers include natural numbers, their negatives, and zero.
