Levertilstander

Levertilstander is a Norwegian term used primarily in logistics and procurement to describe the conditions under which goods are delivered. The word combines lever (to deliver) with tilstander (conditions or states), and is used to denote the state, requirements, and assurances attached to a delivery.

Typical levertilstander include delivery date and time, delivery address, packaging standards, handling instructions, required temperature or humidity for sensitive goods, documentation such as certificates of origin or compliance, labeling, and acceptance criteria upon receipt.

In practice, levertilstander are specified in supplier agreements, purchase orders, and service level agreements. They define what constitutes a compliant delivery and may cover rights to reject, return, or claim compensation for deviations. The concept is related to, but distinct from, Incoterms and other standardized delivery terms.

Etymology and regional use: The term is mainly used in Norway and other Scandinavian contexts; it is not a widely standardized term in international practice. Its precise interpretation can vary between organizations and contracts, depending on industry, product type, and regulatory requirements.
