Lengtheight

Lengtheight is a term used in design, manufacturing, and modeling to describe the combined linear dimensions of an object in the plane defined by length and height. It is not a standard SI quantity but a practical descriptor used to assess fit, packaging, or enclosure requirements. The term is a portmanteau of length and height and is used both to refer to the pair of dimensions (L, H) and, in some contexts, to a single scalar value derived from them using a chosen metric.

In practice, lengtheight can be used to determine whether an object will fit on a shelf or inside a container when width is not the limiting dimension. Measurements are taken along the object's length and its vertical height, using rulers, calipers, or 3D scans with coordinate references. Some users define lengtheight as the Euclidean norm sqrt(L^2 + H^2) to obtain a single bounding value, while others simply report the two dimensions.

Because the term is not standardized, its meaning should be explicitly defined in any specification, including the measurement axes, units, and calculation method.
