Lenari

Lenari is a fictional island nation and cultural region in a maritime setting. It comprises three main islands and several smaller islets, spread across a sea west of the continent of Vayara. The coastline features mangrove swamps, coral reefs, and volcanic foothills. The population is ethnically diverse, with communities historically tied to seafaring, fishing, and trade.

The capital is Arandu, on the central island. Lenari has a tropical monsoon climate. The government is a constitutional republic with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government, elected to a multi-party legislature.

Settlement dates to the medieval period. It developed as a trading hub linking inland regions to overseas markets. In the 20th century Lenari gained independence and adopted a liberal constitution.

The economy centers on sustainable fisheries, coconut and spice agriculture, coastal tourism, and small-scale manufacturing. Education is compulsory and literacy is high.

The Lenari language, part of the Austronesian family, is the national language; English is common in administration and commerce. Cultural life features woodcarving, weaving, maritime music, and coastal festivals. Religious life is diverse, with admixtures of traditional practices and monotheistic faiths.
