LeanUnternehmen, or Lean Enterprise, is a business management philosophy and methodology focused on maximizing customer value while minimizing waste. It originates from the Toyota Production System, which revolutionized manufacturing in the mid-20th century. The core principle is to identify and eliminate any activity that does not add value from the customer's perspective. This "waste" can take many forms, including overproduction, waiting, unnecessary transport, excess inventory, defects, over-processing, and underutilized talent.
