Latoritsa

Latoritsa, also known as Latorica in Slovak and Латориця in Ukrainian, is a river in Central Europe that runs through eastern Slovakia and western Ukraine. The different names reflect the river’s cross-border course and its prominence in multiple languages used in the region. It is an important part of the local hydrographic network and features a landscape shaped by lowlands, wetlands, and agricultural land.

Geographically, the Latoritsa originates in the Carpathian foothills in Slovakia and generally flows southeast, crossing the border into Ukraine before joining a larger river within the Bodrog-Tisza-Danube watershed.
