Lataussana is a sovereign island nation located in the southern maritime region of the fictional continent of Ariven, consisting of three main islands and several smaller islets. The capital is Valmora, and the largest city is Port Ardent, a commercial harbor. The population is around 120,000 people. The official language is Lataussan, with English used as a secondary language in education and business.

Geography and climate: The archipelago is rugged, with pine forests, rocky coasts, and several fjord-like inlets. The climate is temperate maritime with mild winters and cool summers, influenced by the coast and prevailing westerlies.

History: Lataussana traces its political identity to a federation of coastal cantons established in 1802, with full independence recognized in 1837; the current constitution, adopted in 1998, defines a multi-party parliamentary system.

Government: It is a semi-presidential republic with a President as head of state elected by popular vote for four years, and a Prime Minister who heads the government and cabinet. The unicameral Legislative Assembly has 52 seats, elected every four years.

Economy: The economy relies on sustainable fishing, timber, kaolin production, and growing tourism focused on nature and cultural heritage. The currency is the lata, divided into 100 cent. Exports include seafood, timber, and agriproducts; tourism accounts for a significant share of GDP.
