Landratsämter
Landratsämter are administrative bodies in Germany, serving as the local government authorities in the districts (Landkreise). Each district has one Landratsamt, headed by a Landrat, who is the chief executive officer and also the representative of the district. The Landrat is directly elected by the citizens of the district for a term of typically eight years.
