Laimennusprosessit refer to a series of chemical or physical operations designed to reduce the concentration of a solute in a solvent. This is commonly achieved by adding more solvent to an existing solution. The fundamental principle behind dilution is the conservation of the amount of solute. The degree of dilution is often expressed as a dilution factor, which is the ratio of the final volume to the initial volume of the concentrated solution, or conversely, the ratio of the initial concentration to the final concentration.
