Lagunemiskäike

Lagunemiskäike, often translated as "decay moves" or "decomposition tactics," is a conceptual framework originating from Estonian military strategy. It describes a phased approach to weakening and ultimately neutralizing an adversary through a combination of attrition, psychological warfare, and the exploitation of internal vulnerabilities. The core idea is not necessarily direct, overwhelming force, but rather a gradual erosion of the enemy's will, capacity, and unity.

The concept emphasizes patience and the strategic utilization of resources. Lagunemiskäike suggests that by systematically targeting an opponent's weaknesses, whether they be economic, social, or military, their ability to resist will progressively diminish. This can involve propaganda campaigns designed to sow discord, economic sanctions to create hardship, or targeted strikes that inflict casualties without necessarily aiming for decisive battlefield victories.
