Lämpöliitosmenetelmä, often translated as heat joining or thermal joining, refers to a group of fabrication processes where materials are joined by applying heat, often in conjunction with pressure. The fundamental principle involves softening or melting the materials at their interface, allowing them to fuse together as they cool and solidify. This method is widely used in various industries for its ability to create strong and often leak-proof joints.

Different variations of the lämpöliitosmenetelmä exist, tailored to specific materials and applications. For plastics, techniques like hot plate welding, ultrasonic welding, and spin welding are common. Hot plate welding involves heating the surfaces of the plastic parts with a heated plate, then bringing them together under pressure.
