Köynnökasvit

Köynnökasvit, commonly known as climbing plants or vines, are a diverse group of plants characterized by their ability to grow upwards, often by twining around supports, adhering to surfaces, or using tendrils. This growth habit allows them to access sunlight in dense environments, such as forests, where they can outcompete other plants for light. Köynnökasvit exhibit a wide range of forms, from herbaceous annuals to woody perennials, and are found in nearly every terrestrial habitat worldwide.

The mechanism of climbing varies greatly among different species. Some plants, like morning glories (Ipomoea spp.), possess flexible stems that coil around any available support.
