Könssroller

Könssroller, a Swedish term, refers to the socially defined expectations, behaviors, and roles assigned to individuals based on their perceived sex. These roles are not biologically determined but are learned and reinforced through cultural norms, socialization processes, and institutions such as family, education, and media. Historically, many societies have adhered to traditional könssroller, which often assigned men to public and economic roles (breadwinner) and women to private and domestic roles (caregiver).
