Kõrgsurvepihusteid, often translated as high-pressure injectors or nozzles, are critical components in many internal combustion engines and other industrial applications. Their primary function is to atomize fuel or other fluids into a fine spray under significant pressure. This precise atomization is essential for efficient combustion, optimal performance, and reduced emissions.

In diesel engines, high-pressure injectors are part of the fuel injection system. They receive fuel at extremely high pressures from the fuel pump and inject it directly into the combustion chamber. The timing and duration of this injection, controlled by the engine's management system, are crucial for determining when and how much fuel is burned. The design of the nozzle tip, with its precisely drilled holes, influences the spray pattern and droplet size, which in turn affects the mixing of fuel and air.

Beyond diesel engines, similar high-pressure nozzle technology is employed in gasoline direct injection (GDI) systems, where fuel is injected directly into the cylinder at high pressure. This allows for more precise fuel control, improved fuel efficiency, and higher power output compared to older port injection systems. Industrial applications for high-pressure nozzles also include spray coating, atomization of liquids for cooling or humidification, and in some types of burners for controlled combustion of fuels. The materials used in their construction must be robust to withstand high pressures and the chemical nature of the fluids being injected.
