Képezdik
Képezdik is a Hungarian grammatical form. It is not a stand-alone lexical item, but a conjugated form used with a verbal stem to express a process where the subject undergoes the action rather than performing it. In Hungarian, the ending -dik is one of the marks of the present tense for the middle-voice or passive-voice constructions, so képezdik signals that something is being formed, shaped, developed, depicted, or otherwise brought into a state by an action described by the related active verb.
Because képezdik derives from a stem such as képez-, its precise meaning varies with the active verb
- The form is more likely to appear in formal, literary, or analytical Hungarian than in everyday
- The exact English rendering of képezdik will depend on the verb stem it pairs with; possible translations
- Like other Hungarian verb forms, its presence conveys information about voice, aspect, and subject agreement.
