Käyttöselkeys

Käyttöselkeys, often translated as usability or ease of use, refers to the degree to which a user can effectively, efficiently, and satisfactorily interact with a product, system, or environment. It is a fundamental concept in design, particularly in user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design. High käyttöselkeys means that a product is intuitive, easy to learn, and allows users to achieve their goals without frustration or unnecessary effort.

Several factors contribute to käyttöselkeys. These include learnability, which is how easily a new user can perform basic tasks the first time they encounter the design; efficiency, how quickly experienced users can perform tasks; memorability, how easily users can re-establish proficiency after a period of not using the design; error prevention and recovery, how well the design prevents users from making errors and how easily they can recover from them; and satisfaction, how pleasant it is to use the design.

Measuring käyttöselkeys often involves user testing, where real users attempt to complete tasks with a product. Feedback from these sessions, along with metrics like task completion rates, time on task, and error rates, helps designers identify areas for improvement. The goal is to create designs that are accessible and enjoyable for the widest possible range of users.
