Käytettävyysmittarein refers to the methods and metrics used to evaluate and quantify the usability of a product, system, or service. Usability, in this context, encompasses the ease with which users can learn, use, and achieve their goals efficiently and with satisfaction.

Several types of usability metrics exist, often categorized into qualitative and quantitative measures. Quantitative metrics focus on numerical data that can be objectively measured. Common examples include task completion rates, time on task, error rates, and the number of user errors. These metrics provide a clear indication of performance and efficiency.

Qualitative metrics, on the other hand, aim to capture subjective user experiences. These are often gathered through user satisfaction surveys, interviews, and observational studies. Common qualitative measures include perceived ease of use, user satisfaction scores (e.g., using Likert scales), and anecdotal feedback on frustrations or delights encountered during interaction.

The choice of usability metrics depends heavily on the goals of the evaluation, the nature of the product, and the target user group. A combination of both quantitative and qualitative measures often provides a more comprehensive understanding of usability. For instance, a high task completion rate (quantitative) might be less meaningful if users express significant frustration (qualitative) during the process.
