For instance, "animal" is a superconcept of "mammal," which in turn is a superconcept of "dog." This nested structure allows for efficient organization and retrieval of information.

The primary purpose of a käsitehierarkia is to establish a clear understanding of the relationships between different ideas or entities. This is beneficial in various fields, including artificial intelligence, information retrieval, and natural language processing. By defining these relationships, systems can infer new knowledge, categorize new information, and answer queries more effectively. For example, if a system knows that "poodle" is a type of "dog," and "dog" is a type of "mammal," it can infer that a poodle is also a mammal.
