Kyshtyms refers to a series of alleged paranormal or unexplained events that occurred in the Kyshtymsky District of Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia, in the late 20th century. The most famous incident associated with this name is the discovery of a small, humanoid creature found by a woman named Tamara Prosvirina in the summer of 1996. Prosvirina, who was reportedly suffering from mental health issues, found the creature near her home and brought it inside, believing it to be a child.

The creature, which became known as "Alyoshenka," was described as being very small, with a disproportionately large head and underdeveloped limbs. Prosvirina fed and cared for it. Local authorities eventually became aware of the situation and took the creature for examination. After its death, the remains were subjected to various investigations, but definitive scientific identification remained elusive. Theories ranged from a deformed infant or fetus to an unknown species or even a hoax.

The Kyshtyms events gained international attention, particularly through media reports and documentaries. The incident has been attributed to various explanations, including misidentification of a human infant, folklore, and sensationalism. The remains of Alyoshenka are believed to have been lost or destroyed over time, further complicating any potential for definitive scientific analysis.
