Kwolek
Kwolek is a surname. The most prominent bearer is Stephanie L. Kwolek (1923–2014), an American chemist who invented Kevlar, a high-strength para-aramid fiber. Working for DuPont, she developed a liquid crystalline polymer that could be spun into extremely strong, lightweight fibers. Kevlar has found widespread use in protective gear such as body armor, as well as in tires, composites, and other applications because of its high strength-to-weight ratio and heat resistance.
Kwolek's achievement had a lasting impact on materials science and safety equipment. She received several honors
