Kurdistan
Kurdistan is a geo-cultural region in the Middle East traditionally inhabited by the Kurdish people. It spans parts of southeastern Turkey, northern Iran, northern Iraq, and northern Syria. The name means “land of the Kurds” in Kurdish. The term is used both to describe Kurdish-populated areas and, in some cases, to refer to autonomous or semi-autonomous political entities such as the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
