Kulumiskadu

Kulumiskadu is a term used in Sri Lanka that describes a type of forest characterized by its dry and often thorny vegetation. These forests are typically found in the arid and semi-arid regions of the island, particularly in the north and east. The dominant plant species in kulumiskadu are hardy and adapted to survive long periods of drought, with many possessing small leaves and sharp spines to conserve water and deter herbivores. Common trees and shrubs include various species of acacia, cashew, and Palmyra palm.
