Chemical drying utilizes desiccants, substances that absorb water. Silica gel, a common desiccant, is often found in small packets to protect goods from moisture during storage and transport. Other chemical drying agents are used in laboratory settings or industrial processes where very low humidity levels are required. The choice of drying method depends on the material being dried, the desired level of dryness, the scale of the operation, and economic considerations.
