Krüpteerimistüübid, or cryptographic types, refer to the various methods and algorithms used to secure information by converting it into an unreadable format. These types can be broadly categorized into symmetric and asymmetric cryptography.

Symmetric cryptography uses the same key for both encryption and decryption. Common algorithms include Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Data Encryption Standard (DES). Symmetric cryptography is generally faster and more efficient for encrypting large amounts of data, but the security of the system relies on the secrecy of the key.

Asymmetric cryptography, also known as public-key cryptography, uses a pair of keys: a public key for encryption and a private key for decryption. The most well-known algorithm is RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman). This method is slower than symmetric cryptography but offers the advantage of not requiring the sender and receiver to share a secret key. Asymmetric cryptography is commonly used for secure key exchange and digital signatures.

Hash functions are another type of cryptographic technique used to create a fixed-size string of characters from input data, known as a hash value or message digest. These functions are used to verify data integrity and are often employed in digital signatures and message authentication codes. Examples include SHA-256 and MD5.

Steganography is a technique that involves hiding information within another medium, such as an image or audio file, to conceal the existence of the message. This method differs from cryptography as it focuses on hiding the message rather than encrypting it.

Each of these cryptographic types serves different purposes and is chosen based on the specific requirements of the application, such as the need for speed, security, or data integrity.
