Kromosomimurtuma

Kromosomimurtuma refers to a break in a chromosome. Chromosomes are thread-like structures found in the nucleus of cells that carry genetic information in the form of genes. These breaks can occur spontaneously or be induced by various factors. Spontaneous breaks can arise during DNA replication or due to errors in chromosome segregation. Induced breaks can be caused by external agents such as ionizing radiation, certain chemicals (clastogens), or viruses.

However, errors in repair can lead to mutations, which are permanent changes in the DNA sequence.
