Krockkuddarna

Krockkuddarna is a Swedish post-punk duo formed in Stockholm in 2012. The project emerged from the collaboration between Linnea Eriksson (vocals, guitar) and Johan Bergström (drums, electronics). The band's name translates to "the crash cushions," chosen to reflect a focus on cushioning abrupt sonic shifts and creating space within noise.

They released their debut EP "Rummen som Rymmer" in 2013, followed by their first full-length album "Stadens Oändlighet" in 2014. Their music features a minimalist setup, blending abrasive guitar tones, analog synthesizers, and restrained vocal delivery. Critics note influences from late-70s/post-punk and contemporary electronic music, with a preference for sparse arrangements and rhythmic repetition.

In the 2010s they built a following in the Swedish indie scene, touring across Scandinavia and releasing two more albums: "Tystnadens Väg" (2016) and "Nattens Eko" (2019). They are known for live performances that emphasize waveform textures and audience participation through call-and-response segments.

The duo's work has been discussed in music journalism for its exploration of urban alienation and resilience, with reviews highlighting precise production and atmospheric storytelling. As of 2024, Krockkuddarna remain active in the independent music scene, releasing singles and collaborating with other Nordic artists.
