Krioprezervációként

Krioprezervációként is the Hungarian term for cryopreservation. It refers to the process of preserving biological materials, such as cells, tissues, or entire organisms, by cooling them to very low temperatures, typically below -130°C. This low temperature effectively stops all biological activity, preventing degradation and allowing for long-term storage.

The primary goal of cryopreservation is to maintain the viability and structural integrity of the preserved specimens. This is achieved through a controlled cooling process that minimizes the formation of ice crystals, which can damage cells. Cryoprotective agents are often used to reduce ice formation and protect cellular structures. Warming is also a critical step, requiring careful control to prevent damage during the transition back to physiological temperatures.
