Krioprecipitate

Krioprecipitate is a medical product derived from human plasma, specifically the fraction that precipitates at low temperatures. It is primarily used to treat or prevent bleeding disorders, particularly in situations where there is a deficiency of clotting factors. The most common form of krioprecipitate is obtained by freezing and thawing fresh frozen plasma, which results in the precipitation of various clotting factors, including fibrinogen, factor VIII, and factor XIII.

Krioprecipitate is typically administered intravenously and is used in emergency situations where rapid correction of bleeding is necessary. It is particularly useful in patients with hemophilia A or B, von Willebrand disease, or other conditions that affect the clotting cascade.
