Kriechströme

Kriechströme, often translated as leakage currents, are unwanted electrical currents that flow through unintended paths in an electrical system. These paths are typically the result of insulation breakdown or moisture ingress. Kriechströme can occur in a variety of electrical devices and installations, from household appliances to industrial machinery.

The primary cause of kriechströme is the degradation of insulating materials over time. Factors such as heat, humidity, chemical exposure, and mechanical stress can weaken insulation, creating pathways for current to flow where it shouldn't.
