Krewella

Krewella is an American electronic dance music band formed in 2007 by Jahan Yousaf, Yasmine Yousaf, and Kris Trindl. The band is known for its distinctive blend of dubstep, electro house, and pop influences, often featuring strong female vocals.

Initially, Krewella gained traction through online platforms, uploading original songs and remixes. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut EP, "Play Hard," in 2012, which included the hit single "Alive." This success led to a record deal with Columbia Records and widespread recognition within the EDM scene.

The band's early music was characterized by aggressive basslines and anthemic choruses, quickly establishing them as a prominent act in the festival circuit. They released their debut studio album, "Get On My Level," in 2013, further solidifying their popularity.

In 2014, Kris Trindl departed from Krewella, leaving Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf as the primary members. Despite this change, the duo continued to produce and release music, exploring a more diverse range of sounds while maintaining their core electronic dance music identity. Krewella has since released subsequent EPs and albums, continuing to tour and perform at major music festivals worldwide. Their music often touches on themes of freedom, empowerment, and personal struggles.
