Kovettajaan
Kovettajaan is a Finnish term used in materials science to denote a hardening or curing agent—substances that initiate or accelerate the chemical reactions that convert a workable resin, polymer, or cementitious mix into a solid material. The word derives from kovettaa, “to harden,” with the agent-forming suffix -ja. In Finnish-language technical writing, kovettaja or kovettajaan may appear to refer to the substance responsible for curing; in English-language texts the standard terms are hardener, curing agent, or crosslinker.
Kovettajaan is applied across several systems. For epoxy resins, amine- or anhydride-based curing agents provide the
Handling and safety: Hardening agents are often reactive and may produce hazardous vapors or heat during curing.
