Kortsukindel

The term combines the Danish/Norwegian words "kort" (short) and "suk" (sugar), though its literal meaning is not directly related to sugar. Instead, it describes the practice of slicing bread into small, rectangular pieces, often with a sharp knife or bread knife, and arranging them neatly on a plate.

This technique is commonly associated with the preparation of *rugbrød* (Danish rye bread) or similar dense, dark breads.
