Koronarvener refers to the coronary veins, which are blood vessels that supply the heart muscle itself with oxygenated blood. These veins are part of the coronary circulation system, a network of arteries and veins that run along the surface of the heart and penetrate its muscle. The primary function of the coronary veins is to collect deoxygenated blood from the myocardium, the heart muscle, after it has been used by the cells. This deoxygenated blood is then returned to the right atrium of the heart.
