Kopsuödeemi
Kopsuödeemi is a traditional Finnish folk custom associated with the spring equinox, typically observed around March 20th. The term derives from the Finnish words *kopsu* (meaning "to knock" or "to tap") and *ödeemi* (a term related to the sound of a drum or a hollow object being struck). The custom involves a group of people, often children, going from house to house in a village or neighborhood, performing rhythmic drumming or knocking on doors to bring luck and ward off evil spirits.
The participants, known as *kopsuödeemiläiset*, usually carry homemade instruments such as drums, tambourines, or wooden clappers.
