Kopsu

Kopsu is a fictional town and municipality in the northern part of Valaria, a sovereign state created for the purposes of this article. It is the administrative center of Kopsu District in Valaria’s North Province and is situated along the Kopsu River, which flows toward the Serin Gulf. The surrounding countryside is used mainly for agriculture, with pockets of woodland and small farms.

As of the last census, Kopsu has about 4,100 residents. The population is predominantly ethnically Valorian, with small immigrant communities. The town operates under a municipal council and a directly elected mayor.

The area around Kopsu was settled in the medieval period. It received market rights in the 15th century and expanded with the arrival of the railway in the late 19th century. The current municipality was established in the early 20th century and has grown modestly since.

Agriculture dominates the local economy, with crops such as barley and potatoes, plus dairy farming. Light manufacturing, timber processing, and services provide diversification. Tourism centers on the historic town center and river scenery.

Cultural life centers on the annual Harvest Festival and a network of local crafts. Notable sites include the historic town hall, the Kopsu Mill, and the riverside park.

Kopsu is connected by regional roads and a passenger rail line. The nearest international airport is in the nearby city of Nivara, about 50 kilometers away. Education in Kopsu comprises two primary schools and a secondary school, with regional higher education access nearby.
