Koormustakistus

Koormustakistus, often translated as load resistance or simply load, refers to the impedance presented by a device or circuit to the source of power. In electrical engineering, it is the resistance that a power source encounters when supplying power to a load. This resistance determines how much current will flow from the source for a given voltage.

The concept of koormustakistus is fundamental to understanding power transfer. Maximum power is transferred from a source to a load when the load resistance is equal to the internal resistance of the source, a principle known as the maximum power transfer theorem. However, in many practical applications, such as power distribution, efficiency is prioritized, meaning the load resistance is typically much higher than the source resistance to minimize power loss within the source.
