Konserniyhtiöitä, often translated as parent companies or holding companies, are a central element in modern corporate structures. A konserniyhtiö is a company that owns a controlling interest in one or more other companies, known as subsidiaries. This ownership typically grants the parent company the power to appoint the board of directors and influence the strategic decisions of its subsidiaries. The relationship creates a corporate group, or concern, where the parent company acts as the ultimate controlling entity.
