Konferensproceedings are a collection of papers presented at a scholarly conference, published as a formal record of the event. They typically include full research papers, shorter extended abstracts, poster summaries, and sometimes notes from keynote lectures or panel discussions. The exact contents depend on the conference’s policy and format.

The proceedings usually follow a defined publication process. Submissions are subjected to peer review or editorial evaluation, with a selection process that determines which papers are accepted for presentation and inclusion. Authors prepare camera-ready versions, conforming to formatting guidelines set by the organizers or the publisher. The resulting volume may be issued as a printed book, a digital edition, or an online repository, and often carries an ISBN or ISSN and digital object identifiers (DOIs) for individual papers.

Access and indexing vary. Some proceedings are published by professional societies or academic publishers and are widely available through libraries and databases, while others are distributed primarily to conference attendees. Open access models are increasingly common, but many proceedings remain behind paywalls or require library access. Citations typically reference the individual papers, sometimes with a reference to the conference name and year.

Confer­ence organizers distinguish proceedings from journals: proceedings capture work as presented at a specific event and may have a shorter shelf life, whereas journals publish ongoing, iterative research with continuous reviews. Proceedings play a vital role in disseminating early-stage or conference-ready research and in documenting the outcomes of scholarly meetings.
