Kondensaattoriryhmillä, also known as capacitor banks, are collections of capacitors connected together to achieve a desired total capacitance or voltage rating. These groups are commonly employed in electrical power systems to improve power factor, stabilize voltage, and store electrical energy. The arrangement of capacitors within a group can be in series, parallel, or a combination of both, depending on the specific application requirements.

In parallel configurations, the voltage across each capacitor is the same, while the total capacitance is the sum of individual capacitances. This is often used for power factor correction, where capacitors are added to counteract the inductive load of equipment like motors, thereby reducing reactive power demand and improving overall efficiency. Series connections, on the other hand, divide the voltage across the capacitors, and the total capacitance is less than the smallest individual capacitance. This arrangement is useful when dealing with very high voltages that exceed the rating of a single capacitor.

Hybrid configurations, combining both series and parallel connections, allow for precise control over both the total capacitance and the voltage rating. Capacitor banks can be manually switched or automatically controlled by a power factor regulator that senses changes in the system's reactive power and adjusts the capacitance accordingly. They are essential components in many industrial and commercial electrical installations to ensure efficient and stable power delivery.
