Kommunas

Kommunas, also known as communes, are social and political groupings that emphasize collective ownership and democratic decision-making. Examples include the intentional communities of the 1960s and 1970s in the United States, such as the People's Community in New Harmony, Indiana, and the intentional communities in the 1980s and 1990s in the United Kingdom, such as the Gurdjieff communities.

In other instances, kommunas have been implemented as political entities, such as the communes of the Soviet Union during the 1920s and 1930s, which were intended to be self-sufficient agricultural collectives.
