In everyday language it is widely used in compound nouns and technical terms. In household technology a kombi nált készülék refers to a device that integrates multiple functions, such as a kombinált mosó-szárítógép (washing-drying machine), kombinált hűtő-fagyasztó (fridge-freezer), or kombinált sütő-főző (oven with cooktop). In healthcare, kombinált gyógyszer or kombinált oltóanyag denotes a fixed-dose combination medicine or vaccine that contains more than one active ingredient.

In sport, the term designates events that combine several disciplines. A well-known example is the Nordic Combined, which blends ski jumping and cross-country skiing; in Hungarian it is often described as északi összetett or simply komb인ált verseny.
