Kollisionvermeidung, or collision avoidance, refers to the set of technologies and strategies employed to prevent accidental impacts between vehicles, aircraft, or other moving objects. In the context of road vehicles, these systems often utilize sensors such as radar, lidar, and cameras to detect potential hazards like other vehicles, pedestrians, or obstacles. Once a potential collision is identified, the system can warn the driver, automatically apply brakes, or even take steering control to steer the vehicle away from the danger.
