Kogussuchus is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period, approximately 125 million years ago. It is known from a single species, Kogussuchus kochi, which was discovered in the Tendaguru Formation of Tanzania. The genus name is derived from the Swahili word "kugusu," meaning "to be lazy," and "suchus," a suffix used for crocodile-like dinosaurs. The specific name honors the German paleontologist Friedrich von Huene.
