Kodierte

Kodierte is the past participle and attributive form of the German verb kodieren, meaning to encode or to code. In everyday German, kodierte describes information, signals, or material that has been transformed into a coded form by applying a code, rule, or algorithm. The term is common in computing, telecommunications, and the sciences. Examples include kodierte Daten (encoded data), kodierte Nachrichten (encoded messages), and kodierte Zeichen (encoded characters). The use of kodierte does not by itself specify the method; encoding can serve purposes such as data representation, compression, format standardization, or error detection. Encryption or cryptographic protection is described with other terms such as verschlüsselt (encrypted) or kryptografisch.

In biology, the related concept appears as coding sequences, or kodierende Sequenzen, parts of DNA or RNA
