Knäflexionen
Knäflexionen are movements in which the knee joint bends, decreasing the angle between the thigh and the lower leg. This motion is central to many daily activities such as walking, climbing stairs, and sitting down. Anatomically, the primary structures involved are the femur, tibia, and patella, with the knee flexor muscles—including the hamstring group (biceps femoris, semitendinosus, semimembranosus), the sartorius, and parts of the quadriceps (especially the rectus femoris and vastus intermedius)—generating the flexion torque. Ligaments such as the posterior cruciate ligament and medial and lateral collateral ligaments provide stability throughout the range of motion.
During normal gait, knee flexion begins in the initial swing phase, reaching a peak of about 60
In athletic contexts, adequate knee flexion is crucial for performance and injury prevention. Coaches and physiotherapists
