Klientel
Klientel (from Latin clientela) is a term used in political science and sociology to describe a system in which a political actor—such as a party or a leader—distributes material benefits and services to a defined set of supporters in return for political support, loyalty, or votes. The arrangement rests on a patron–client relationship in which patrons exchange rewards for political allegiance, and clients reciprocate with electoral support, labor, or advocacy. The German term often corresponds to the English "clientelism" or "patronage."
