Klappventile

Klappventile are a type of non-return valve designed to permit the flow of fluid in one direction only, whilst preventing or restricting backflow. They consist of a simple moving part, a pivoted or hinged flap or plate, which is typically disk-shaped and attached to a shaft or rod. The name "Klappventile" is derived from the German words "klappen", meaning to close or flap, and "ventil", or valve.

In operation, the valve is normally in an open position, allowing fluid to flow through the valve. When the fluid pressure in the valve drops, the spring-loaded platens or flaps are forced into a closed position, shutting off the valve. Klappventile are commonly used in applications where the pressure in the system is not high, such as in pneumatic or low-pressure hydraulic systems.

The design of Klappventile provides several key benefits. Firstly, they are typically simpler and less expensive than other types of non-return valves, such as check valves. This makes them an attractive option for applications where high performance is not critical.
