Kineticists

Kineticists are a class in the tabletop role-playing game Pathfinder, introduced in the Advanced Class Guide. They are described as individuals who have learned to harness the fundamental forces of the universe and manifest them as raw energy. Unlike spellcasters who draw power from external sources like divine or arcane energies, kineticists tap into their own internal reservoirs of kinetic energy. This allows them to shape and project this energy in various forms, such as blasts of fire, walls of ice, or even telekinetic pushes.

The core mechanic of a kineticist involves manipulating "elements" which are not tied to traditional elemental schools of magic. Instead, these are more abstract forces like fire, water, earth, air, lightning, and telekinesis. A kineticist chooses an elemental specialization which dictates the primary form their kinetic powers will take. They can then further refine these abilities through a system of "infusions" which modify the basic effects of their kinetic blasts, adding secondary damage types, creating area-of-effect attacks, or altering their trajectory.

Kineticists are known for their versatility and their ability to adapt to different combat situations. They can engage enemies at range with powerful blasts, create defensive barriers, or even use their powers for utility and exploration. Their abilities often manifest as physical alterations or energy projections rather than the verbal or somatic components typically associated with spellcasting. This unique approach to power makes them a distinct and dynamic class within the Pathfinder system.
