Kiinteäfaasisynteesin
Kiinteäfaasisynteesi, often abbreviated as SPPS, is a chemical synthesis method where the product is synthesized while attached to a solid support. This technique revolutionized the synthesis of peptides, making it possible to create longer and more complex peptide chains efficiently. The process typically involves attaching the first amino acid to an insoluble polymer resin. Subsequent amino acids are then added one by one through a series of chemical reactions, including deprotection and coupling steps. Each addition cycle involves washing away excess reagents and byproducts, thanks to the solid support, which simplifies purification.
Once the desired sequence is assembled, the peptide is cleaved from the resin, and any protecting groups
